Exhibition:

Itay Shmueli (b. 1981) is a graduate of HaMidrasha – Faculty of the Arts, living and working in Tel Aviv. His work explores domestic scenes, local landscapes, and minor, intimate moments of charm, alongside narratives inspired by the world of cinema.

In his creative process, Shmueli utilizes a diverse range of visual sources, including personal photographs, home movies, and imagery gathered from the internet, films, and television. Working primarily in oil paints, he employs a meticulous, multi-layered technique that allows the piece to evolve and build organically during the process of its creation.

Shmueli teaches painting in various settings and has showcased his work in both solo and group exhibitions at notable venues, including Maya Gallery, the Haifa Museum of Art, Alfred Gallery, and the Beersheba Museum of Art, among others.
