Omri Harmelin was born in 1984 in Pretoria, South Africa. At a young age, he moved to Israel where he grew up and attended the Midrasha School of Art (2007-2011). Harmelin has moved back to Tel Aviv, Israel after living and working in New York City for the past 6 years where he received with honors his MFA from Pratt Institute (2013-2015).
Harmelin’s work tackles familiar narratives and issues of visual culture, mass media, and politics. Harmelin’s work was exhibited and displayed in numerous places and venues around the US and Europe, including Pierre Berge, Paris, France, the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum, St Augustine, FL, and Pierogi Gallery in NY.
עמרי הרמלין נולד בשנת 1984 בפרטוריה, דרום אפריקה. בגיל צעיר עבר לישראל שם גדל ולמד בבית הספר לאמנות המדרשה (2007-2011). הרמלין חזר לתל אביב, לאחר שחי ועבד בניו יורק ב-6 השנים האחרונות, שם קיבל בהצטיינות את התואר השני ב-MFA ממכון פראט (2013-2015).
עבודתו של הרמלין מתמודדת עם נרטיבים וסוגיות מוכרות של תרבות חזותית, תקשורת המונים ופוליטיקה. עבודותיו של הרמלין הוצגו במספר רב של מקומות ברחבי ארה"ב ואירופה, כולל פייר ברז'ה, פריז, צרפת, מוזיאון קריספ-אלרט לאמנות, סנט אוגוסטין, פלורידה, וגלריה פיירוגי בניו יורק.
